This will put a dent into hyped rookie's fast start. The injury reportedly looked serious on the field, and occurred after a collision with Cowboys nickel back Orlando Scandrick, occurring on the second to last play of practice. We should have a detailed update by the weekend at the latest.

King had dinner with owner Jerry Jones on Friday night, and Jones mentioned that opponents at least won't be able to scout Bryant during the preseason. Bryant could be ready for the exhibition finale if he makes it back by the most positive end of his 4-6 week timetable, but we can't imagine him risking aggravation. Most likely, he'll open the season in a very limited role.

We've finally got it," Williams said. Never lacking for confidence, Williams is way too optimistic here. He's off the stake for now with Dez Bryant (ankle) sidelined, but we're not touching Williams in fantasy.

"I know for a fact that I'm going to be ready for Washington," Bryant said. "I feel great, I feel fine ... I've been running; I've been doing a lot of good things. So I'll be ready." Bryant has been ruled out for this week's game against the Texans, but he thinks there's a chance he could play a few snaps in the exhibition finale. Already closing in on 100 percent, he's now a bargain in fantasy leagues.

Though the Cowboys claim Williams was held out only as a precaution, he admits the injuries bothered him in Dallas' third preseason game, and he won't play in the finale. Bryant is directly behind Williams on the depth chart, and will move up if Williams misses more time.

This could help to explain Bryant's scaled-back offensive role in Week 2, when he saw just 28 snaps after playing 43 downs in the opener. With what could be a shootout on tap against the Texans, Bryant's injury is worth monitoring closely. If healthy, the Cowboys' usage of three-receiver sets (and thus usage of Bryant) is almost certainly set to rise this weekend.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>This had a little bit to do with a minor leg injury Bryant suffered in the fourth quarter Sunday. But the rookie was also spotted looking lost on his routes and it's possible the Cowboys aren't sure he's up to speed mentally yet. Bryant will get better rapidly as the season moves along, but for now he's a WR3.

Bryant promised that he'd be ready to go for this week's potential fantasy bonanza. While he's shown an ability to recover quickly, he's also overshot predictions on his return before. We'd feel better about using him as a WR3 if he graduates to a full practice on Friday.

Dez Bryant - WR - Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (ankle) told ESPNDallas that he's "ready to go" Week 6 against the Vikings.
Although not yet 100%, Bryant reported his ankle is feeling "a lot better", and will be active against a Minnesota secondary that just lost their best cornerback in Cedric Griffin (ACL tear). As this game could turn into a shootout, we like Bryant as a WR4/flex option. October 16 - 8:29 p.m. ET

Tweets Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas, "Might not be a bad idea to pick up Tashard Choice in your fantasy league." MacMahon has been leading the bandwagon to get Choice more carries, and it would come to fruition if Jones was to miss Sunday's game against Green Bay. While an earlier report from the Dallas Morning News suggested Jones' injuries weren't serious, he's never recovered quickly and often struggles at less than full health.
